Check the lender first
Match the legal name and registration number on the application to the official register. Check the website address and contact details independently. A familiar trading name alone is not enough; see how to verify a provider.
Prepare relevant documents
Common requests include proof of identity, recent income information and bank statements. The exact documents, accepted income types, age criteria and bank requirements depend on the lender. Use its current checklist, rather than assuming an example on this site is sufficient.
Give a complete affordability picture
Include regular living costs and all existing commitments. If you are under debt review, speak with your debt counsellor about your position before seeking further credit. Do not omit a commitment to make a calculation look affordable.
Know where information goes
BluCross’s guides and calculator do not need your ID or bank documents. Apply now opens an external provider, which decides eligibility and handles any application under its own privacy notice. Read the document guide before uploading information.
